AFTERCARE
Take care of your new tattoo.
Tattoos are open wounds and will become itchy when healing, do not scratch. Healing fluids will come out of your tattoo for the first few days of healing be aware this could ruin your bedsheets or clothes.
Do not use fake tan, perfume, or cosmetics on your healing tattoo.
Do not go to the gym for the first week and be cautious with excessive sweating in week two of healing.
Second Skin Bandage:
Keep your bandage on for a minimum of 24hrs and up to 2-3 days.
When you take your bandage off, we recommend doing so in a hot shower to eliminate any trauma to the skin. Pull off slowly, in the direction of hair growth. Wash your tattoo with warm water and a gentle soap, lather well. Be sure to wash away any dried blood or sliminess. After washing, BLOT tattoo with a clean, soft, and dry, paper towel.
DO NOT PICK AT YOUR TATTOO!
Start using lotion whenever your tattoo is dry or itchy! Use a lotion that is dye free, fragrance free, and aloe free such as Lubriderm, Curel, or Aveeno. Apply lotion as needed; up to 5 times daily.
Do not soak in the Ocean, Pools, Jacuzzis, Baths, etc. until your tattoo is fully healed (about 3 weeks).
Keep out of the sun until your tattoo is fully healed. I recommend sunblock that is spf 50 or higher daily to preserve your tattoo.
Second skin fell off? Tattoo too big for second skin?
Follow traditional tattoo healing methods:
Keep your tattoo covered for at least 1 hour, no more than 3 hours.
When you take your bandage off, wash your tattoo with warm water. Make sure the water is warm to the touch. It should sting a little, but NOT be painful. Apply gentle soap and lather well. Be sure to wash away any dried blood or sliminess. After washing your tattoo BLOT tattoo with a clean soft dry paper towel.
Continue your aftercare with lotion as above!
